The Beginning of Everything
September 2020 marked the starting point of Arconesia. With just 5 partners in Bengkulu, we launched our first oil palm-intercropping project. The capital wasn't from major investors, but from family—the founder became a farmer. From that small farm, the belief was born that agriculture could be more fair, modern, and sustainable.
Growing Together with Farmers
One year later, that small step turned into a movement. Over 100 farmers in Bengkulu and South Sumatra joined the oil palm-intercropping ecosystem. Their trust became the fuel for Arconesia to continue proving that change can start from the village, together with farmers.
Building a Closed-Loop Ecosystem
Arconesia is no longer just connecting farmers with markets. We built a closed-loop ecosystem—a system that integrates financing, agronomic assistance, and markets, all digitally integrated. Over 150 farmers are no longer walking alone; they are part of an ecosystem that supports each other.
Science Meets the Field
This year, Arconesia went further by bringing science to the farm. Partnering with Wageningen University and Research, IPB, ULM, and Bengkulu University, we developed science-based oil palm-intercropping practices. Over 200 farmers are now part of a movement that is not just a local practice, but also receives academic and global recognition.
Expanding Horizons
Arconesia didn't stop at intercropping. We expanded horizons by integrating oil palm with livestock, and developing rice-watermelon crop rotation in Bengkulu. Over 250 farmers are now involved in a more complex, diverse, and resilient system. From a small farm in 2020, Arconesia has now grown into a real ecosystem for hundreds of farmers in Bengkulu.
